Astrid Dorado is a third generation coffee producer and has grown coffee at Finca Agroambiental since 2004. Agroambiental is a small family farm located in Sotará, Colombia. Sotará is a small town located at high elevation in the mountainous department of Cauca. This region has volcanic soil, ample rain and fresh water, quality coffee varieties and a rich history of coee production. Astrid is engaged in her community and as well as producing coffee and taking care of her family she leads an association supporting women farmers in Sotará.

Panther Coffee’s relationship with Astrid began at a coffee competition and auction in Timbio in 2018. There, Astrid was asked what her life was like as a coffee producer. “Well, I wake up, I take care of my kids, I take care of my husband, I take care of the house, I take care of the animals, then I take care of the coffee.” Panther Coffee green coffee buyer Joel Pollock loved the good natured and honest answer and we continue to love the coffee.

This year’s harvest is as delicious as ever, with notes of Meyer lemon, cherry, and starfruit. We are happy to share with you this product of our lasting relationship with Astrid and Finca Agroambiental!
