This is our ninth year working with Finca El Limonar in La Libertad, Huehuetenango Guatemala. The farm is located at high elevation in the rugged Sierra Madre mountains and it has produced coffee for generations. Citrus and macadamia are also grown here and they provide shade for the coffee. A natural spring provides water for preparing coffee in the washed method and one quarter of the farms’ area is a registered nature reserve. El Limonar is a classic example of the Huehuetenango profile and this coffee is a testament to both the care of the producer and the regions’ renowned terroir. This lot of coffee is a washed Villa Sarchi variety selection. The variety, microclimate and care of the producer come together to give us an exceptionally delicious coffee. Finca El Limonar has a classic profile with a wide appeal. We find this coffee to be intensely sweet with wonderfully rounded and complementary flavors of milk chocolate, caramel and sweet fruit. It finishes with a butter caramel aftertaste and a very clean finish. Please enjoy Finca El Limonar!
