Fazenda Santa Lucia is a coffee and Girolando cattle farm in Carmo de Minas, Minas Gerais. Helcio Carneiro Pinto has been running the farm since 1976. In that time Brasil and the world have seen the emmergence of the quality focused specialty coffee movement. Beginning in the 90’s Helcio and leaders from other local farms founded APROCAM, an association of quality focused coffee producers from the Mantiqueira region. The group partnered with scientists, agronomists and coffee professionals in the interest of improving quality. Helcio has travelled the world, bringing innovations in coffee production from around the world back home to Minas Gerais, Brasil.

Twenty-five families live free of cost in houses on the large farm. In addition to fair salaries and free housing these families are given milk, coffee, transportation, and medicine. The farm also offers a public school, soccer field and a lake for fishing.

This coffee is a yellow Bourbon lot selection processed in the pulped natural method. It has great sweetness and luxurious notes of chocolate, malted milk and sugarcane. We enjoy this coffee for it’s heavy mouthfeel and we think you will too.
